The Sims created by Will Wright, game design is a series of life simulation video games developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. The franchise has sold nearly 200 million copies worldwide, and is one of the best-selling video game series of all time. It is also part of the larger Sim series, started by SimCity in 1989. The games in the Sims series are largely sandbox games, in that they lack any defined goals (except for some later expansion packs and console versions which introduced this gameplay style). The player creates virtual people called "Sims", places them in houses, and helps direct their moods and satisfy their desires. Players can either place their Sims in pre-constructed homes or build them themselves. In short, playing one game of The Sims series - TS1, TS2, TS3 or/and TS4 - isn't such different than playing with dolls when we were a kid. Each successive add-ons and game in the series augmented what the player could do with their Sims. We've 4 Sims releases: The Sims 1 - TS1 - (February, 4th, 2000), The Sims 2 - TS2 - (September, 14th, 2004), The Sims 3 - TS3 - (June, 2nd, 2009) and the Sims 4 - TS4 - (September, 2nd, 2014) plus MySims, The Sims Freeplay and The Sims Mobile. Indeed, since the release of The Sims 1 on February, 4th, 2000, The Sims 1, 2, 3 and 4 have seduced 85 millions of players from all over the world. Moreover, they continue to attract 15 millions of new casual gamers per year since the base game of TS4 became free on October, 18th, 2022.

What we, the AFFE Network Code School, we love about The Sims 4 is the ability of personalize everything and create our own stories. Add-ons we got condition the way we play by offering us some possibilities but above all new constrains. We can play with the occults in Forgotten Hollow or Ravenwood like a blended family in the suburbs of San Sequoia, we can choose to live in a shabby apartment in San Myshuno or Cuidad Enamorada or off the land in Henford-on-Bagley. We can also play at being a 5-star celebrity in Del Sol Valley or a potter who has chosen to make a modest living in Nordhaven passing by a teen in Copperdale with his sister in charge who has to go to work instead of studying at the highschool.
