Code School of Animation Formation and Free Education (AFFE) Network

We're 16 members: 14 permanent members and 2 substitutes. The office of the Code School is composed of:

-Namfone Marie Dutour, president (Information Media Education or IME, Cobol/Fortran);

-Alain Dupontel, co-president and treasurer (Java);

-John Marti, pedagogical manager (Javascript, C, Ruby)

-Anne-Marie Anastasia, co-treasurer (2D and 3D video game design);

-Léa Pinson, active member (Digital rights and intellectual property);

-Adeline Blomme, secretary.

 

Born in August 2016, the school has for audiences:

-people at Tours' remand center

-people from drug abuse and addiction treatment centers in Tours

-people with another specific background who didn't have the luck to get a serious training - because of their lack of education, drop-out from school system early - (during the day) and people who want to expand their personal culture (on evening courses).

At the moment, we've 150 learners, all training courses included. We operate as a closed network, which means that all our learners come only from:

-associations with which we collaborate - associations mentioned in "Animation Formation and Free Education Network" -

-the two following schools (42 School in Paris and Wild Code School in Tours)

-the Tours' remand center

-the different drug abuse and addiction treatment centers in Tours' metropolis

-the Touraine's Local Mission and the Saint Pierre-des-Corps' Job Office.

The Code School offers 4 programs, all of which are accessible after the general and technological baccalaureate. They are recognized by the Répertoire National des Compétences Professionnelles (RNCP) of level III (Bac+2/+3):

-Software/Web development in Front and Back End;

-Creation of well-referenced websites for companies, individuals and associations

-Design of video games for PC or videogaming consoles

-Sociocultural animator specialized into Information Media Education (IME) and Media Literacy.

The trainings can be fully financed by the funding organizations, the Personal Training Account (CPF). They take place over 2 years from September to June. There's a 3rd year of courses dedicated to the specialization. All our trainings take place at the Tours' Canopé's Network from Monday to Friday: trainings for specific audiences (during the day) and training courses for everyone (on evenings). Every courses are taught in English. Here is the whole of the proposed courses that it's within the framework of the professional trainings:

Front and Back End Software/Web Development:

-Basic programming of common software (Office suite, calculator, photography software, video playback software)

-Front and Back Office project development

-Web programming (HTML/CSS, Javascript, Python, C)

-Database architecture (MyQSL, XML)

-English applied to computer science

-Computer and telecommunications network security

-Advanced analysis of the UX User Experience

-Computer software and network design and engineering

-Computer virus and malware detection and remediation

Creation of well-referenced websites for businesses, individuals and associations:

-Programming, maintenance and design of websites

-Communication on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok)

-Analysis of the performance of the sites thanks to Webmarketing

-Setting up a store or an online business

-Database architecture (MyQSL, XML)

-Advanced analysis of the UX User Experience

-Free and paid search engine optimization (SEO/SEA)

-English applied to IT

-Writing of various articles in French and English

-Ergonomics of a website and analysis of the UX User Experience

Design of video games for PC or videogaming consoles:

-2D and 3D graphics for video games

-Character animation in 2D and 3D

-Design of levels, quests and rewards in games

-Advanced analysis of the UX User Experience

-Computer Music (CAM)

-Musical training for the composition and performance of music for video games

-Musical improvisations and sound effects

-Scripting of video games (Storytelling)

-Colorization of characters and backgrounds

-Design of marketable video game projects

-Economics in games

-Marketing and game rights

Sociocultural animator specialized into Information Media Education (IME) and Media Literacy:

-Initiation to sociology (sociology of family, sociology of media, sociology of associations)

-Animation techniques specialized into media literacy and Information Media Education (IME)

-Creation and maintenance of webmedia for schools or associations

-Initiation to psychology (psychology of the child development, social psychology, media psychology)

-Using of the tool Scratch for the algorithmy learning in the schools and associations, of the games Minecraft and Sims 4 for some pedagogical notions

-Visits to numerous sociocultural animation institutions/associations and interviews of the professionals who work there

-"Meeting the territories" Project

-Participation in the Day against Harrassment in Schools and in the Week of Press and Media at Schools
